A Practical Raid: Shadow Legends Campaign Progression Guide
FIRST MONTH Build around one dependable champion
A new account usually benefits more from one developed damage dealer than from five champions sharing every resource. Your chosen starterâoften Kael, who brings multi-target damage and Poison debuffsâcan carry campaign stages while you gather food. Other starters can work; use the kit you have rather than treating one pick as mandatory.
Level your carry, rank them up when they reach their level cap, and equip coherent artifacts. Ranking consumes champions of the same rank, so use low-rarity champions as food only after checking whether they fill a useful role. Keep a small support roster for different affinities and jobs, but avoid taking every new pull to maximum level.
Advance deliberately, then farm
Campaign progress unlocks stronger stage rewards and access to the next difficulty. Push as far as your team can clear reliably, but do not spend all your energy repeatedly failing a boss. When a stage blocks you, improve your carryâs level, rank, or gear, then retry.
Campaign is also the dependable early source of experience and basic artifacts. Stage 12 is commonly used for leveling; 12-3 is popular because its shield artifact can be sold for silver. The best choice is the highest stage your farmer completes consistently, not a stage requiring constant revives. Use a second champion only if your farmer cannot clear alone.
| Activity | Early purpose | Practical approach |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | Experience, food, basic gear | Push until stuck, then farm reliably |
| Daily quests | Account progress and rewards | Complete while spending energy naturally |
| Minotaurâs Labyrinth | Masteries | Wait until core champions can farm it efficiently |
| Potion Keeps | Ascension materials | Target what the next upgrade needs |
Equip for a job, not a set bonus
Artifacts are equipment pieces; accessories add further stats later. Early on, main stats and substats matter more than completing a set. A damage dealer generally needs enough Speed to take turns, Accuracy to land debuffs, and offensive stats matching their skill scaling. A support often values Speed, HP, and Defense so their healing or control arrives early and they remain alive.
Check the main stat on gloves, chestplates, and boots before upgrading. Percentage stats usually scale better than flat stats as champions grow, and Speed boots are widely useful. Damage dealers may use Critical Rate gloves until their critical chance is reliable. Debuffers need Accuracy if their effects can be resisted. Do not upgrade every drop; improve pieces that address a real need and sell obvious mismatches.
Expand without spreading thin
Daily quests, missions, and challenges steadily introduce systems and rewards. The Tavern handles leveling, ranking, ascension, and skill upgrades. Use duplicates carefully because some can matter for faction guardians, empowerment, or specialist teams. The Sparring Pit can provide passive experience when unlocked, but it does not replace campaign farming.
As your roster grows, identify missing roles: a healer or reviver, a Defense-down debuffer, control, and coverage for different affinities. Warmaiden is a campaign-accessible source of AoE Decrease Defense, while Apothecary is a useful rare support if available. These are options, not requirements. Read skill descriptions and build for the actual encounter.
Set a weekly progression loop
Before spending energy, identify the next account goal. If a campaign stage remains uncleared, make a focused push. Once a reliable farmer is ready, level food and collect silver. When a champion is close to a meaningful rank or ascension, gather only those materials. Leave flexibility for quests and rotating events instead of chasing every temporary reward.
Use the battle results as feedback. If the farmer dies, improve survival or take a safer stage. If a boss defeats the team, determine whether the cause is weak damage, missing debuffs, or low durability. Change a small number of variables at a time so you can tell what helped. Do not confuse account power with progress: the practical test is whether you can clear a useful stage without constant manual intervention.
Early success is less about a complete roster than making a few champions reliable enough to carry the next step. Better farming creates food and silver; those upgrades strengthen supports, which opens dungeons and other modes. Keep the loop simple, and avoid rebuilding your entire account around every new champion.
